YANKEE INVITATIONAL - ST. JUDE MEDICAL CENTER
On the weekend of the 16th of July, the firm had the privilege of participating in a charity event in Lexington, Massachusetts to raise money for St. Jude’s Medical Center. The event, the Yankee Invitational, is sponsored by Chris Duggan of Smith and Duggan. The Yankee Invitational started six years ago as a group of eight lawyers getting together to play three days of tennis. It has since grown to over 30 people, most of whom are highly qualified defense attorneys from around the country. The list includes Brad Remmick of Philadelphia, Jimmy Singer of Atlanta, Jim Foster of Chicago, Mike Crowley of New Jersey, and Lloyd Zane Remmick, also of Philadelphia. The main organizer of the event is Theodore Morris, Associate General Counsel of Stanley Works.
DAVID P. CONDON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OUTING
On June 28, 2010,the New London Country Club was the venue for the David P. Condon Scholarship fund raiser which awards fund to a incoming student at the University of Connecticut School of Law www.law.uconn.edu/alumni who shows promise of academic success. It was a true pleasure for Matt Gordon to participant in such a worthwhile Event.
CROMWELL FIRE DEPARTMENT GOLF TOURNAMENT
On June 19, 2010, Quarry Ridge Golf course was in was the site for the 5th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the Cromwell Fire Department. The day started with a lunch at 12:00pm and a Scramble with a shotgun start at 1:00pm. A Dinner,raffle and prizes followed for a complete day! It was the pleasure of Matthew Dallas Gordon LLC to be a sponsor of this worthwhile event.
Matthew Dallas Gordon LLC recently participated as a contributing sponsor of the Seventh Annual Gala of the Charter Oak Cultural Center in Hartford, Connecticut www.charteroakcenter.org. This year Charter Oak Culture Center honored its Vision Award winners Lisa Kassow, Hillel Director at Trinity College, John Rose, Jr., Corporation Counsel and Edward Cumming, conductor of the Hartford Symphony.
Deirdre Stokes, a firm associate, chaired the Hartford County Bar Association’s annual black tie event, the Barristers’ Ball, which raised approximately $10,000 to support people in need in the Hartford area.
